Working within a space of only a few inches changes everything.
A line that looks delicate on paper may be too fragile when it becomes steel. An opening may be too small to cut. A beautiful architectural detail may disappear completely at this scale. And because each design is created from a single sheet of stainless steel, every part of the composition has to work structurally as well as visually.
Nothing can simply float in space.
So I draw, simplify, redraw—and sometimes start over entirely.
I remove details until the image becomes clearer rather than emptier. I find ways to suggest water with a few lines, a forest with a handful of trees, or an entire mountain range with one carefully chosen silhouette.

How much can I take away while still keeping the soul of the place?
That challenge has become one of my favorite parts of the process.
